Stake is the strongest choice here for players who want in-house games and fast crypto movement on one account: 31 provably fair Originals, 11 major coins with published per-coin fees, and 3.5% rakeback that a new player can unlock from day one with an affiliate code. Its weakness is the deposit-match side: Stake publishes no match percentage or rollover, and most Originals are blocked while a deposit bonus runs. It suits regular crypto players, not bonus hunters.
Key facts as of October 2026
Most rows below come from Stake's own terms, its help centre or the Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate. The founding year comes from Wikipedia and the Stake.us row from cryptonewsradar.com. Where no source gives a figure, we left the row out.
Medium Rare N.V., the licence and what it covers
Section 1.1 of the terms names Medium Rare N.V. as owner and operator, licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority under number OGL/2024/1451/0918. Payments may be handled by two Cypriot subsidiaries, Medium Rare Limited in Nicosia and MRS Tech Ltd in Larnaca. Stake was founded in August 2017 by Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani. Its US sweepstakes sister, Stake.us, is reportedly run by a separate company, Sweepsteaks Limited.
We loaded the CGA certificate of operation for stake.com on 5 October 2026. It confirms the company number (145353), the licence number and an Active status, and the CGA's B2C certificate gives the grant date as 9 June 2025. The licence is issued under Curaçao's National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK). A CGA notice dated 2 October 2026 says that, "as previously announced", the regulator's online portal is offline; the CGA disclosed unauthorised access to that portal on 17 September 2026. The notice says existing licences remain valid.
What the licence gives you in a dispute
Less than a UK or Maltese licence would. The terms route complaints to support@stake.com first (section 23.1). After that, Curaçao law governs and the courts of Curaçao have exclusive jurisdiction (section 25.1). Section 13.1 adds that management's decision on any dispute "is final and shall not be open to review or appeal". Do not expect the regulator to settle a dispute for you. The CGA's online gaming page says it "does not handle individual complaints" against operators, cannot mediate or arbitrate, and "cannot order gaming operators to compensate players". It still accepts complaints at complaints@cga.cw, because a complaint or a pattern of them can point to a breach of the law that it may act on. So complain to Stake in writing first and keep bet IDs. If that fails, send the file to complaints@cga.cw as a report, and treat the courts of Curaçao as the only route that can order payment.
Incidents and market exits
On or about 4 September 2023, roughly $41 million in virtual currency was stolen from Stake.com. The FBI attributed the theft to North Korea's Lazarus Group.
In February 2025 the UK Gambling Commission announced that Stake.uk.com would close. TGP Europe, which ran it as a white label, shut the site after the Commission opened an investigation into a widely shared video carrying Stake branding. The United Kingdom is now on Stake's prohibited list.
The 100% wagering rule every deposit carries
This rule applies to every player, with or without a bonus. Sections 8.5 and 8.10 of the terms, and the separate coin mixing policy, require you to wager 100% of each deposit before you can withdraw or tip it. Deposit 500 USDT and you must place 500 USDT in bets before a withdrawal is accepted. A progress bar on the withdrawal page tracks it.
The cost is small if you play low-edge games. 500 USDT wagered on a 1% edge Original has an expected cost of about 5 USDT. The catch is for people who use a casino wallet as a transit point. A deposit followed by an immediate withdrawal is refused, and the help centre calls this "coin mixing". The rule also applies to the in-wallet swap tool, because a swap is processed as a withdrawal plus a new deposit. Coins you swap into must be wagered once again, and a swap can take up to two hours.
Sports bets count toward the 100% only once they settle, not when you place them. Sections 8.1 and 8.12 also let Stake hold a withdrawal until identity verification is complete, and the help centre warns that big withdrawals may go to manual processing.
Welcome offer and the deposit bonus rules
Stake's help article on the welcome offer defines it as "instant access to the rakeback bonus that is normally only unlocked once you reach the Bronze VIP Club level". You unlock it by entering a valid affiliate or referral code on the offers page within 24 hours of opening your account. From then on you get 3.5% of the house edge back on every bet, win or lose. Stake's own example: 1 BTC wagered on a game with a 2% edge returns 0.0007 BTC. Miss the 24-hour window and rakeback waits until Bronze, at $10,000 wagered.
Deposit matches are a separate matter. The help centre says the bonus multiplier "varies depending on your affiliation and the bonus type", and Stake publishes no match percentage, cap or rollover for them. Affiliate listings (third-party sites, not Stake) in September and October 2026 describe a 200% first-deposit match. Some put the cap at $1,000 and others at $2,000, usually with 40x wagering. Most say the 40x applies to deposit plus bonus, but at least one says bonus only. None of this is on Stake's site, so treat it as an affiliate claim and check the exact terms in your account before depositing. Offers also differ by country. For a wider view of how this type of offer is priced, see our list of casino bonus codes and what they unlock.
The rules Stake does publish
The deposit bonus requirements policy is public, and it weights games by house edge. The rollover is defined on deposit plus bonus. Each game counts toward it in proportion to its house edge, measured against a 4% benchmark:
- A game with a 4% house edge counts $1 for every $1 wagered.
- A game with a 1% edge counts $0.25 per $1, so it clears four times slower.
- Sportsbook bets are treated as 3% edge and count $0.75 per $1.
- Your bonus currency is locked until the requirement is met, or until you lose the whole balance with no bets open.
- Under section 12.3 your cash balance is always used before your bonus balance.
- Under section 12.10 any bonus not claimed within its claiming period, or 60 days if shorter, can be cancelled.
What you cannot play while it runs
The excluded-games list is long. Stake's live page sits behind a browser check we could not pass, so this is the newest archived copy, from 17 September 2026. It blocks every game from 11 studios: 100hp, 155, 3 Oaks Gaming, Amusnet, EGT, InOut, Playson, Turbo Games, VoltEnt, Wazdan and one listed as "The Originals". It also names about 1,400 individual titles from roughly 90 other studios, including Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming, Push Gaming and Relax Gaming, plus several Evolution tables such as Lightning Blackjack and Bac Bo.
It also blocks 24 Stake Originals: Blackjack, Bars, Cases, Chicken, Crash, Darts, Dice, Drill, Dragon Tower, Flip, Hilo, Keno, Limbo, Mines, Moles, Packs, Primedice, Plinko, Pump, Rock Paper Scissors, Slide, Snakes, Tarot and Zoo (Zoo is on the excluded list but not on the current Originals page). Stake Poker is excluded too. If you came to Stake for the Originals, a live bonus shuts you out of most of them.
Worked example: what the published offer is worth
Start with what Stake publishes. You claim the welcome rakeback with a code on day one and wager 10,000 USDT on slots with a 4% house edge, the amount it would otherwise take to reach Bronze.
- Expected loss: 10,000 × 4% = 400 USDT.
- Rakeback: 10,000 × 4% × 3.5% = 14 USDT, paid whether you win or lose.
- Expected net cost: 400 − 14 = 386 USDT.
So the welcome offer is worth about 14 USDT on your first 10,000 wagered, a 3.5% cut in the expected cost of play. It has no rollover, no excluded games and no expiry, which makes it safe to claim, but it is small.
Now the third-party version of the deposit match, priced with Stake's published weighting rules. Take the commonly advertised 200% match at 40x on deposit plus bonus. You deposit 100 USDT and receive 200 USDT in bonus funds.
- Base for wagering: 100 + 200 = 300 USDT.
- Requirement: 300 × 40 = 12,000 USDT, counted at the 4% benchmark.
- On a slot with 96% RTP (4% edge), you wager the full 12,000 USDT. Expected loss: 12,000 × 4% = 480 USDT.
- On a 1% edge game, each bet counts a quarter, so you must wager 48,000 USDT. Expected loss: 48,000 × 1% = 480 USDT.
- On sports at 3%, you wager 16,000 USDT. Expected loss: 16,000 × 3% = 480 USDT.
Because of the house-edge weighting, the expected cost is 480 USDT whichever route you take, against 200 USDT of bonus. On average you finish about 280 USDT behind where you would be without the bonus, before rakeback. If the rollover is bonus-only, the requirement drops to 8,000 USDT and the expected cost to 320 USDT, still above the 200 USDT bonus. Either way the match loses money on average, unlike the rakeback offer. It only makes sense for a high-volume player who would wager that much anyway and treats the bonus as a partial refund. Our guide on comparing bonuses by real cost uses the same method.
Rakeback, reloads and the VIP ladder
Ongoing value is where Stake is strongest. The help centre publishes the rakeback formula: 3.5% of the house edge on every casino bet, whether you win or lose. On a slot with a 4% edge, that is 0.14% of turnover, or $1.40 for every $1,000 wagered. Poker earns 3.5% of rake. Sports earns 3.5% of the theoretical value at a 3% edge, and voided or cashed-out bets do not count. Rakeback starts at Bronze, or from sign-up if you enter an affiliate code within 24 hours of opening the account, and can be claimed at any time from the VIP tab.
Sports wagering counts three times toward VIP progress, so $1 on sports equals $3 on casino games. The weekly bonus is calculated from your rank, your last seven days of wagering from Saturday 00:00 GMT and the house edge of what you played. The help centre says it carries no wagering requirement. The monthly bonus arrives by email and can be claimed from the VIP tab 24 hours after release.
Reloads start at Platinum. Their size depends on rank and on wagering over the last 7, 14, 28 or 42 days, and Stake says a losing period pays a little more. From Platinum IV, a VIP host can switch you to weekly, daily or hourly intervals; the help centre says hosts "may be available" at high levels without naming a tier. Apart from the rakeback rate, none of these amounts are published. Weekly, monthly, reload and level-up amounts are discretionary, and only rakeback is formula-based.
On top of that run a $100,000 daily race that pays the top 5,000 players every 24 hours, and a weekly raffle with one ticket per $1,000 wagered (the help centre calls it the "$50K/$75K Weekly Raffle"). Bonus Drop codes are posted on Stake's Telegram channels, X account and partner streams on a first-come basis.
Coins, networks and withdrawal fees
Stake publishes a minimum and a flat fee for every coin. Figures below are from the help centre article updated on 24 August 2026. The fee is taken in the coin itself, so its dollar value moves with the market.
For a small USDT cashout, pick the network carefully. The 1 USDT fee is the same on every network, so it eats 40% of a 2.5 USDT minimum withdrawal. Check the dollar value of the fee when you withdraw, because it is set in the coin itself. Bitcoin Cash is a point in Stake's favour, since Roobet and Shuffle do not take it; see our list of casinos that take Bitcoin Cash. For the busiest stablecoin routes, compare USDT casinos and Solana casinos.
On limits: there is no maximum crypto deposit. The withdrawal limits article does not show a maximum, and the help centre says larger withdrawals may be processed manually by administrators. Stake does not commit to a processing time in its terms or help centre, so we give no typical payout time.
Buying crypto and local currencies
The wallet's "Buy Crypto" button sends you to MoonPay or Swapped and shows which one gives the better rate. In selected countries Stake also accepts Visa and Mastercard in local currency, for example 5 to 3,000 CAD in Canada or 20 to 3,000 AED in the UAE. Card withdrawals go back to the same card only, and bank transfers and card payouts can take up to three business days. The Vault, an internal savings balance, holds funds apart from your playing balance. Opening it requires your password, a confirmed email and two-factor authentication.
31 Originals and the third-party lobby
Stake's Originals page listed 31 games on 4 October 2026: Mines, Dice, Primedice, Blackjack, Plinko, Limbo, Keno, Crash, Chicken, Hilo, Dragon Tower, Moles, Flip, Slide, Pump, Wheel, Baccarat, Snakes, Roulette, Tome of Life, Diamonds, Packs, Rock Paper Scissors, Drill, Darts, Scarab Spin, Cases, Video Poker, Bars, Blue Samurai and Tarot. Few of the brands we track publish an in-house count that high, and the depth is why Stake ranks high on our crash casino list and among Plinko casinos.
Stake publishes its game maths in code rather than as an RTP table. The Limbo formula on the fairness page uses a 1% house edge (a 99% RTP). Stake's house-edge guide gives dice-style games a range of 1.4% to 5% and blackjack 0.5% to 1.5%, so check the edge inside each game before you assume 99%. Section 10.5 lets Stake adjust the house edge of any slot without notice, so check the in-game figure there too.
Originals have their own stake and profit caps per coin, which matter for high rollers:
The cap is per bet, not per account. A 1,000x Limbo hit on a 0.05 BTC bet would be capped at a 20 BTC profit. The minimum bet on Originals is $0.0001. Third-party games usually start at $0.10 to $0.20.
Slots, live tables and what is missing
Stake's own game policies name the large studios in its lobby, among them Pragmatic Play, Evolution, NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming, Push Gaming, Relax Gaming, Big Time Gaming, ELK Studios, Red Tiger, BGaming and Thunderkick. Evolution live tables such as Lightning Blackjack and Bac Bo appear in Stake's own game lists, so Stake belongs on any list of live dealer crypto casinos. A sportsbook and Stake Poker share the same wallet. Stake does not publish a total game count, so we have not given one. Some branded slots are geo-restricted by their suppliers, and the providers policy lists NetEnt titles unavailable in certain countries.
How the provably fair system works on Stake
Each Original combines a server seed, a client seed, a nonce and a cursor, and runs them through HMAC-SHA256. The server seed is a random 64-character hex string. Before you bet, you see only its SHA-256 hash, so Stake cannot swap it later without the hash changing. The client seed starts as a random value your browser creates. Stake recommends replacing it with your own in the fairness modal so your input affects the outcome.
The nonce goes up by one with every bet, which gives a new result each time without changing seeds. The cursor handles games that need more than eight random numbers from one hash, such as blackjack drawing many cards. When you rotate seeds, the old server seed is revealed. You can then hash it yourself, compare it with the hash you were shown, and replay every bet with the published code. Stake's site has a calculator, and the same JavaScript can be run independently.
Crash and Slide work differently because one result is shared by all players in a round. They use a salted hash chain announced in a public BitcoinTalk seeding thread, not your personal seed pair. Third-party slots and live tables are not provably fair; their fairness rests on each studio's RNG certification. Our guide to how provably fair games work walks through a full manual check, and Stake sits among our provably fair casinos.
Prohibited jurisdictions and VPN rules
Section 14.3 lists 45 prohibited jurisdictions as of the late-September 2026 terms. Big markets include the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, South Africa, Israel, Ontario in Canada, and most of the EU: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Greece and others. The rule covers anyone physically there, whatever their nationality.
Section 14.4 says that using a VPN, proxy or false address to get around geo-blocking is a breach of the terms. Section 5.1 lets Stake check device data, IP masking and blockchain activity. Under section 4.21, a breach can lead to voided bets and withheld winnings. Do not play from a listed country. For how this works across the market, see our guide on what casino terms say about VPNs. Stake also runs official mirror domains for places where the main site is blocked by internet providers. Those mirrors do not change the prohibited list.
Stake Smart limits and exclusions
Stake's safer gambling tools sit under Stake Smart in the account menu, and you set them yourself:
- Deposit limits. Local-currency deposits support a daily limit only. Crypto sent above your limit goes into a "withholding balance" and is released day by day as the limit resets. Raising or removing a limit triggers a cooling-off period.
- Break in Play: one day, two days, one week or one month. The account reopens automatically when it ends.
- Product Exclusion blocks either the casino or the sportsbook and applies immediately, while deposits, withdrawals and chat stay open.
- Self-exclusion is indefinite with a minimum of six months. It does not end automatically; you have to email support@stake.com and pass a return-to-play review.
Poker has its own exclusion process. The responsible gambling page lists BetBlocker, Net Nanny and GamBlock as device blockers, and Gamblers Anonymous, Gambling Therapy and the US National Council on Problem Gambling for support.
Support, complaints and account security
Support runs through 24/7 live chat (logged in only) and email at support@stake.com. The help centre has around 140 articles and is more complete than most. Security options include two-factor authentication, passkeys and email or social sign-in re-checks on withdrawals.
Casino Guru gave Stake a Safety Index of 7.9 ("above average") as of October 2026. Its all-time complaints counter shows 424 in total, split as All (424), Opened (21), Unresolved (3), Resolved (63) and Rejected (337). Recent titles there are mostly delayed account checks, deposits not credited, slow payments and account closures. Casino Guru also says Stake has few restrained payouts relative to its size. If you complain, give the bet or transaction ID, ask for a written reason, and remember the section 8.2 clause: Stake may hold funds during an investigation without explaining it.
Stake against BitStarz, Cloudbet and Duelbits
These three are the closest matches on in-house games and rewards. Stake's column comes from its own pages; figures for the other casinos come from our reviews of them.
Pick Stake for the number of Originals, published coin fees and a VIP ladder built for high volume. BitStarz is better if you want a classic match bonus and Originals with published RTPs. Cloudbet suits players who want a no-wagering cash welcome package. Duelbits pays a higher headline rakeback from the first bet. Players who want a native token and written deposit-bonus terms should read our Shuffle review.
Who should play here and who should not
Stake fits a crypto player who wagers often, likes low-edge Originals such as Dice, Limbo and Mines, and wants to see fees and limits before depositing. It also fits sports bettors, since sports wagering counts three times toward VIP levels. High rollers get published per-coin caps and a VIP ladder that runs to $1 billion in wagering.
Skip it if you want a deposit match you can price before you sign up, if you plan to deposit and withdraw without playing, or if you only want the Originals with bonus money, because 24 of them are blocked while a bonus runs. Skip it too if you live in any of the 45 prohibited jurisdictions, including the US, the UK, Australia, Brazil and most of the EU. If you are still weighing options, start with Bitcoin casinos or our guide on choosing a crypto casino.

The deposit bonus requirements policy is public, and it weights games by house edge. The rollover is defined on deposit plus bonus. Each game counts toward it in proportion to its house edge, measured against a 4% benchmark:
Mobile experience
Stake runs in the mobile browser with the same wallet, Originals, sportsbook and Vault as on desktop. Passkeys and two-factor authentication work on phones, and Stake lists official mirror domains for places where internet providers block the main address. Its terms note that small screens may hide some game names and move some information.
Responsible gambling
Stake Smart offers deposit limits, Break in Play for one day to one month, casino or sportsbook exclusion, and indefinite self-exclusion with a six-month minimum and a review before reopening.
