Payment Methods

BitStarz is at its best as a place to cash out: approved crypto withdrawals average about ten minutes, the operator charges no withdrawal fee, and its Curaçao licence is active on the regulator's own certificate page. The weak point is the welcome package. Its Bitcoin headline cannot realistically be cleared inside the seven-day window at the capped bet size. It suits slot players who deposit in stablecoins or fiat-sized amounts and want a long track record.

Key facts

Every row below comes from the operator's terms, payments page, FAQ or the Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate, as of October 2026. Where BitStarz's own pages disagree with each other, the table says so.

Who runs BitStarz and what the Curaçao licence gives you

Section 1.2 of the terms names Gareton B.V. as the company behind the site, registered in Curaçao under number 160656. The licence number in the footer, OGL/2024/165/0185, links to a certificate of operation on the Curaçao Gaming Authority's portal. On 5 October 2026 that page showed bitstarz.com operated by Gareton B.V., licensed under the 2024 National Ordinance on Games of Chance, with a grant date printed as 08/07/2024, and listed as Active.

The licence is newer than the brand. BitStarz has traded since 2014, and older reviews name Dama N.V. or Direx N.V. as its operator, so the company behind the logo has changed at least once. The current licence comes from the reformed Curaçao regime, which replaced the old master-licence and sub-licence model with direct licences issued by the authority.

What that means in a dispute

The complaint route in section 14 runs through support first, then escalation inside the company, and then a complaint to the gambling authority or a request for review by a designated dispute resolution service (14.8). The Curaçao Gaming Authority's online gaming page says it "does not handle individual complaints against gaming providers" and "cannot order gaming operators to compensate players". It does accept complaints at complaints@cga.cw as possible evidence of a breach of the law, and may act against an operator if a pattern shows one. For getting your money back, the regulator is not an escalation step. Section 17 sends any legal dispute to arbitration in Curaçao under Curaçao civil procedure, and section 15 gives you six months from the event to file a claim. Section 14.4 makes the casino's server records the final authority on any disputed result.

In practice, a player in Canada, Germany or India has no local regulator with power over Gareton B.V. The site's complaints page points players to the AskGamblers complaint service as an outside channel. AskGamblers lists 26 complaints against BitStarz over an 11-year history, 18 resolved and 8 rejected, with a typical first response inside a day. Casino Guru gives the brand a Safety Index of 9.8, estimates its annual revenue above $100 million, and finds no listing on the blacklists it tracks. Trustpilot showed a 4.3 out of 5 rating in October 2026, although many recent reviews there complain about winnings cancelled under the maximum-bet rule. Several of the eight rejected AskGamblers cases also involved confiscated winnings, for duplicate accounts or bonus abuse.

The welcome package, read clause by clause

BitStarz advertises "5 BTC + 180 free spins" across four deposits. The operator's bonus page confirms the first deposit gets a 100% match plus 180 free spins and that the next three deposits add "up to €400 or 4 BTC". The split usually reported by reviewers is below; BitStarz loads the exact percentages into the cashier only after login, so treat the per-deposit figures as reported rather than confirmed.

DepositMatchFiat capBTC capExtras
1st100%€1001 BTC180 free spins
2nd50%€1001 BTCNone
3rd50%€2002 BTCNone
4th100%€1001 BTCNone

The gap between the two columns is large. A fiat or stablecoin player can collect €500 in total bonus money. A Bitcoin player is offered up to 5 BTC on the same four deposits. The page's own copy says "if you want serious value here, go for the BTC option", and the terms explain why that value is hard to reach.

The rules that decide what the bonus is worth

  • Wagering is 40 times the bonus amount (bonus terms 3.4; the FAQ's own example is a 10 bonus needing 400 in bets). Bets from your deposit also count towards it (3.22).
  • Welcome bonuses expire after 7 days. Other bonuses expire 24 hours after they are issued (3.7).
  • Maximum bet with an active bonus: 5 EUR/USD/USDT, 0.0015 ETH, 0.05 LTC, 25 DOGE or 0.00006 BTC. Bonus buys and double-up features count against the cap (3.10).
  • Slots count towards wagering unless excluded. Table games, live games, instant-win games, lotteries and bingo "typically" count 5%. Progressive and accumulating-jackpot games are excluded (3.5), and the FAQ still lists individual slots that count 0%, 50% or 75%.
  • Deposit funds are played before bonus funds. Withdrawing the deposit early means cancelling the bonus and losing any bonus winnings (3.6).
  • No bonus code is needed. Bonuses are credited automatically, and if one is missing you must contact support before you play (3.27).
  • No maximum cashout is stated on deposit bonuses. The $100 cap applies only to no-deposit offers.
  • Players from Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Slovenia receive no promotions at all (3.2.2).

Worked example: a 100 USDT first deposit

Deposit 100 USDT and you receive a 100 USDT bonus. The wagering target is 40 × 100 = 4,000 USDT of bets. At the 5 USDT maximum bet, that is at least 800 spins inside seven days, which is manageable for a regular slot player.

The cost is the house edge on those bets. On a slot returning 96%, the expected loss is 4,000 × 4% = 160 USDT. You started with 200 USDT in play, so the average finishing balance is about 40 USDT, against the 100 USDT you deposited. On a 97% slot the expected loss falls to 120 USDT, which still leaves the average outcome below your deposit. Variance means some players finish well ahead, but the bonus does not add expected value at this wagering level, only playing time.

Switching to blackjack does not help. At 5% contribution, the same 4,000 USDT target becomes 80,000 USDT of table bets.

The Bitcoin headline, in arithmetic

Now take the first deposit at the 1 BTC cap that reviewers report. Wagering is 40 BTC. At the 0.00006 BTC maximum bet, that is 666,667 bets. Seven days contain 604,800 seconds, so you would need more than one maximum bet per second, around the clock, for a week. The 5 BTC total is on the promotions page, but clearing it is not realistic. Only invited VIPs, whose page promises no maximum bet on bonuses, can get near it.

The bonus is worth taking if you want more spins from a 20 to 100 USDT deposit and accept that the expected result is still a loss. Skip it if you might want to withdraw quickly, play mostly live or table games, or deposit large sums in BTC.

Free spins and the no-deposit offer

The 180 welcome spins arrive 20 at a time: 20 straight after the first deposit and 20 more every 24 hours for the next eight days (free spins terms 2.7). The qualifying deposit must be wagered once within 24 hours, each batch must be opened within a day, and cancelling one batch forfeits all later batches. Spin winnings carry 40x wagering, and the eligible slot depends on your country.

New accounts can also get 20 free spins for confirming their email address, according to the FAQ. Winnings are capped at 100 USD/EUR/USDT (0.00117 BTC), and nothing can be withdrawn until you have deposited at least 20 USDT or the coin equivalent. Players from 64 countries, among them Germany, India, Norway, the Philippines and South Africa, are excluded from these spins under clause 1.6.

Reloads, Bonuz Mania and the invitation-only VIP club

After the welcome package, most of BitStarz's ongoing value is automatic and tied to deposits. The two weekly reloads only open once you have made four deposits, and those four do not count the deposits used to claim the offer itself (2.10).

  • Monday reload: 50% on the first deposit of the day, up to $300. The terms allow BitStarz to cut it to 25% for players whose bonus-to-deposit ratio it considers too high (3.2.3).
  • Wednesday free spins: up to 200 spins, scaled to the deposit size and credited in your last active currency.
  • Bonuz Mania: every deposit of $50 or more gives three spins on a provably fair 3x3 game where the spin bet equals 10% of the deposit. Prizes include cashback of 5% to 50% on 24-hour net losses (capped at twice the deposit), deposit multipliers up to $50,000 at 40x wagering, and a Mega Jackpot that starts at $25,000.
  • Tournaments: Slot Wars pays €5,000 and 5,000 free spins across 150 places each week, and Table Wars pays €10,000 across the top 40 with no wagering on prizes.
  • Level Up Adventure: the current season runs from 28 September to 6 November 2026 across 41 levels, and its rules on the promotions page set 10x wagering on prizes for levels 2 to 40 and 1x on the $20,000 top prize. Only real-money bets count, and table games and Originals contribute 5%.

There is no cash rakeback for ordinary accounts and no published loyalty ladder. Jackpotz Mania, open to every account, pays a small daily rakeback in J$ to players with Active status, meaning at least one deposit and $1,000 of real-money wagering in the last 30 days. The formula is 0.5 × (100 minus the game's RTP)% × real-money wager, so $1,000 on a 97% slot earns J$15 the next day. J$ cannot be withdrawn or played in casino games: it only converts into Daily Jackpot Spins, for two progressive jackpots, and entries in the monthly JPM Races (the current race pays $25,000 across its leaderboard). Inactive players still get the free daily jackpot spins but no rakeback or race prizes. The VIP Starz Club is invitation-only and, according to the VIP FAQ, flat: no levels or tiers. Managers review accounts weekly, and the VIP terms say members are expected to deposit about €5,000 a month on average to keep their status.

Members get 10% weekly cashback on losses (calculated Friday to Thursday and paid on Friday until 16:00 CET), a 50% Thursday reload, and no maximum bet or cashout on bonuses. A manual bonus of up to 10% of losses above €500 is available on request, but the terms describe it as discretionary and "not guaranteed". The VIP FAQ quotes the cashback at 10%, while the VIP terms say the percentage depends on your individual VIP deal.

Coins, networks and per-coin limits

The payments page lists twelve cryptocurrencies and seven fiat currencies. Monero is not among them. Logged out, the page only displayed the Bitcoin rows: on-chain and Lightning deposits from 0.0001 BTC with 0% fee, and Bitcoin withdrawals with a 1 BTC maximum per transaction. Archived cashier links show USDT sent on TRC-20; other networks only appear after login.

The most detailed per-coin data BitStarz publishes sits in its bonus terms, which set the same limits in each currency:

CoinMax bet with bonusDeposit to unlock free-spin winsNo-deposit win cap
USDT5 USDT20 USDT100 USDT
BTC0.00006 BTC0.00023 BTC0.00117 BTC
ETH0.0015 ETH0.007 ETH0.037 ETH
LTC0.05 LTC0.283 LTC1.416 LTC
BCH0.01 BCH0.063 BCH0.317 BCH
DOGE25 DOGE211 DOGE1,055 DOGE

These are fixed coin amounts, so their dollar value moves with the market. A 0.00006 BTC maximum bet may be worth more or less than the 5 USDT cap on any given day. BitStarz accepts Bitcoin at both the on-chain and Lightning layer, plus Ether, Litecoin and Tether among the majors.

Deposits must meet the per-coin minimum shown in the cashier; anything below it "cannot be processed" and will not be returned (8.6.8). Coins sent on the wrong network are only chased if the amount exceeds $5,000, at a 0.1 BTC recovery fee, and only if you report it within seven days (8.6.9). Funds already in your account cannot be converted between currencies, according to the FAQ, and section 8.5 says no exchange services are offered. The FAQ does mention in-game currency conversion, which lets crypto balances play games priced in fiat. The cashier does have a "buy crypto" tab that routes card purchases through outside exchange partners.

Withdrawal rules worth knowing before a big win

BitStarz's speed claim holds up in the operator's own wording: the FAQ says over 90% of withdrawals are processed instantly and the average is 10 minutes, and section 8.7.10 states that neither BitStarz nor its processor charges a withdrawal fee. Several clauses decide whether a larger withdrawal is fast:

  1. Every deposit must be wagered once before it can be withdrawn (8.7.5 and 9.9). This is an anti-laundering rule and applies with or without a bonus.
  2. Withdrawals go back the way the money came in: crypto deposits return in the same coin to the same wallet (FAQ; 8.7.13). USD depositors can only withdraw through e-wallets (8.7.9).
  3. Large wins are checked with the game provider first, and the terms warn that "the withdrawal may take longer than the 10 minute average" (8.7.8).
  4. Substantial wins can be paid in monthly instalments (8.7.3). The terms do not define "substantial", and this sits awkwardly beside the FAQ's line that no maximum withdrawal is enforced.
  5. Every withdrawal passes an internal audit under bonus terms 3.14, and bonuses can be voided after a failed audit.

Identity verification is not part of sign-up. The FAQ says crypto players do not have to provide documents as standard, while fiat players may be asked. Sections 7 and 8.7.4 still let BitStarz request ID, proof of address and payment proof from anyone at withdrawal. Documents are reviewed within 12 hours, usually within one. If BitStarz cannot reach you within two weeks of a withdrawal request, the account is locked (8.7.11).

Two account rules cost money if ignored. One account per person, household, IP address and PC is allowed, and duplicate accounts forfeit winnings (6.2.2). Accounts with no login for six months pay a dormant fee of at least €5 a month until the balance reaches zero (13.1). For context on how this speed compares across the market, see our instant-withdrawal crypto casino list.

Games: the count depends on where you log in

Reviews quote anywhere from 3,000 to 8,245 games for BitStarz, and they can all be right. Licences held by game studios restrict which titles each country sees, and the terms reproduce NetEnt's restricted-territory lists in full. On 5 October 2026 the logged-out lobby in one region showed 2,681 games across 41 studio tabs (two of them BitStarz's own Originals and Jacks collections), led by BGaming (275), Booming Games (226), 1spin4win (216), Endorphina (205) and Betsoft (197). Casino Guru counts 79 providers for the full catalogue, including Pragmatic Play, Evolution, NetEnt, Play'n GO, Nolimit City and Big Time Gaming.

Slots dominate, with BitStarz exclusives, Megaways, Hold and Win and bonus-buy sections. Pragmatic Play and Evolution titles, BitStarz's best-known third-party content, did not show in that regional lobby. If a particular studio matters to you, check the lobby from your own country before depositing. There is no sportsbook. Live dealer tables are offered, but the live lobby also varies by region; that regional lobby showed Beterlive and Plati+ tables.

The 18 BitStarz Originals

The Originals lobby holds 18 games, each with an RTP printed on its game page. They include a crash game and a Plinko variant.

OriginalRTPOriginalRTP
Blackjack99.5%Croc Snap97.5%
Plinko98%Coin Flip97%

Roulette97.3%Ra Ra Riches97%
Darts96.57%Slot96.5%
Crash96%Wheel96%

These returns are average for the category. Several rivals run their dice and limbo games at 99%, so BitStarz's Originals are not where the value lies. Blackjack at 99.5% is the exception. For bonus play, Originals count 5% unless the promotion says otherwise.

How provably fair works here

The fairness FAQ says games from SoftSwiss are "100% provably fair" and that every other provider's fairness rests on the Curaçao licence. That is an honest split: most of the catalogue is not provably fair, and for those games the FAQ points to the Curaçao licence and an RNG certificate BitStarz says the regulator issued to it.

For games that are, BitStarz's "provability explained" page sets out the method. Before a round, the server generates the outcome and a random secret, hashes both with SHA-256 as specified by NIST, and shows you that hash. You then add input: a number from 0 to 36 that pushes the roulette wheel, a deck cut position for card games, or one digit per reel for slots. After the round, the game reveals the original outcome and secret, so you can hash them yourself and confirm they match the fingerprint shown before you bet.

The randomness comes from the Mersenne Twister generator, and card decks use a Fisher-Yates shuffle. To check a round, open the game, click the "Provability" button on the right edge of the screen and paste the revealed values into any independent SHA-256 tool. This scheme proves the outcome was fixed before your input and not changed afterwards. It does not prove the RTP. Our guide to how provably fair games work covers what the hash can and cannot show, and BitStarz is listed among our provably fair crypto casinos.

Restricted countries and the VPN clause

Section 3.6 bars real-money play from 66 named countries and territories, fiat and crypto alike. They include the United States and Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom and its overseas territories, France and its overseas territories, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Pakistan, Iran and Curaçao itself.

Canada and Australia are not on the list, but country-level exclusions still apply. Canadians cannot play NYX games (4.5), and NetEnt's blacklist covers Australia, so NetEnt titles are not offered there. A further eight countries can play but receive no bonuses, and 64 are excluded from the no-deposit spins.

The terms are explicit about VPNs: "Using a VPN to bypass a provider's block is strictly prohibited and may lead to confiscation of winnings" (4.3). Section 3.7 adds that BitStarz cannot guarantee that withdrawals or refunds will be processed for anyone who breaches the restricted-countries policy. Bonus winnings from a restricted country are void automatically (3.4). Our guide to what casino terms say about VPNs explains why this clause decides whether a withdrawal is paid.

Android app, support and escalation

BitStarz now has an Android app, distributed as an APK from its own site because Google Play does not list it. In October 2026 the download page showed version 1.1.18, a 121 MB file needing Android 12.0 or newer, with the full cashier, crypto and fiat methods included. The download page covers Android only and lists no iOS version, so iPhone users play in the mobile browser.

Support runs 24/7 by live chat and by email at support@bitstarz.com. Chat also works through Telegram and WhatsApp from the site's chat menu. AskGamblers reports that chat opens with an AI assistant before a human agent takes over. VIPs have a separate team at VIP@bitstarz.com. For accounts, two-factor authentication through Google Authenticator is available under account security, and the FAQ says Bitcoin balances are held in cold wallets.

If support cannot resolve a dispute, the next steps are the internal escalation described in section 14 and the AskGamblers complaint service named on the complaints page. You can also report the case to the Curaçao Gaming Authority at complaints@cga.cw, but it does not handle individual complaints or order compensation. Complaints must come from the account holder; section 14.7 lets BitStarz dismiss any complaint handed to a third party.

Safer gambling tools

The account limits page offers four limits, each settable per day, week or month: deposit, loss, wager and session time. The wager limit is the most useful for slot players, since it caps total bets even when the balance barely moves.

A cooling-off period runs from 1 day to 6 months: you can still log in, but you cannot deposit, play for real money or receive promotions. You can reopen early, with a 24-hour waiting period. Self-exclusion runs from 1 day to permanent, blocks login entirely and cannot be lifted before it expires. The Play Safe page also lets you request self-exclusion through support@bitstarz.com and lists GamCare, Gordon House and Gam-Anon for outside help. Our responsible gambling page lists international help services.

How BitStarz compares

Against three other long-running names, BitStarz trades bonus value for payout reliability. Figures for the other casinos come from our reviews of them.

CasinoLicenceWelcome offer and wageringIn-house gamesTypical payout

Pick Stake if you play crash, dice and other originals heavily or want a sportsbook on the same balance. Cloudbet suits players who want rakeback on every bet, a welcome reward paid in cash with no wagering, and a long sportsbook record. Jackbit is better if you dislike wagering requirements, since its rakeback carries none, although its welcome spin winnings are capped at $100 and still carry some turnover. BitStarz is the choice for a slot-first lobby, weekly tournaments and a payout record that complaint sites rate highly. For a similar slot-led casino with a cashback ladder anyone can climb, see our 7Bit Casino review. Our 100% welcome bonus comparison and our real-cost method for comparing bonuses put the 40x package in context.

Who BitStarz suits, and who should skip it

BitStarz fits slot players who deposit 20 to 300 USDT at a time, want withdrawals measured in minutes rather than days, and value a twelve-year record with few unresolved complaints. Players who enjoy weekly competition get steady extras from Slot Wars, Table Wars, Bonuz Mania and the Level Up seasons without opting in.

It also suits players in countries such as Canada, New Zealand, Japan or Norway, which are not on the restricted list, as long as the studios they want are licensed there.

Skip it if you are drawn by the 5 BTC headline. At a 0.00006 BTC maximum bet it cannot be cleared in seven days. Skip it as well if you want cash rakeback without an invitation, play mainly live or table games (5% wagering contribution), or need Monero. High rollers should note the monthly-instalment clause and the 1 BTC per-transaction figure on the payments page, and confirm their limits with support before depositing large sums.

Mobile experience

BitStarz offers an Android app as a direct APK download (version 1.1.18, 121 MB, Android 12.0 or newer) because Google Play does not list it. The app includes crypto and fiat payments. The download page covers Android only, so iPhone players use the mobile browser site, which carries the full lobby, cashier and live chat.

Responsible gambling

You can set deposit, loss, wager and session limits per day, week or month, take a cooling-off break of 1 day to 6 months, or self-exclude from 1 day to permanently in account settings. Self-exclusion can also be requested through support@bitstarz.com.

FAQ

Is BitStarz licensed and legit?
BitStarz is operated by Gareton B.V., Curaçao company number 160656, under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/165/0185. The regulator's certificate page lists the licence as granted on a date printed as 08/07/2024 and Active. Disputes go to support first. The Curaçao authority says it does not handle individual player complaints or order payouts, so the outside route is a dispute service, and the site names AskGamblers as one.
How long do BitStarz withdrawals take?
The FAQ puts the average cashout at 10 minutes and says over 90% of requests are processed instantly. Large wins are checked with the game provider first and can take longer, and every deposit must be wagered once before it can be withdrawn. BitStarz charges no withdrawal fee.
What is the minimum deposit at BitStarz?
The welcome package needs a deposit above 20 EUR, USD or USDT, or the coin equivalent. The Bitcoin rail accepts deposits from 0.0001 BTC. Each coin has its own minimum in the cashier, and deposits below it are not credited or returned.
Does BitStarz need a bonus code?
No. The four-deposit welcome package and its 180 free spins are credited automatically. If a bonus you qualify for does not appear, contact support before you start playing, because it cannot be added afterwards.
What are the BitStarz bonus wagering rules?
Bonuses must be wagered 40 times the bonus amount, welcome bonuses expire after 7 days, and the maximum bet is 5 USDT or 0.00006 BTC. Slots generally count in full, while table, live and instant-win games typically count 5% and some listed slots count less. A 100 USDT bonus therefore needs 4,000 USDT of slot bets.
Can I play BitStarz from the US, UK or Canada?
No for the US and UK: both are on the restricted list in section 3.6 of the terms, along with Spain, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil and others. Canada is not restricted, although Canadians cannot play NYX games. The terms prohibit using a VPN to get around blocks and allow winnings to be confiscated.
Are BitStarz games provably fair?
BitStarz's 18 Originals and the SoftSwiss-supplied games are provably fair, using a SHA-256 hash of the result and a secret that is shown before the round and revealed afterwards. A Provability button in the game lets you check it. For other studios' games the FAQ points to the Curaçao licence and an RNG certificate.
Does BitStarz have an app?
Yes, for Android. It is downloaded as an APK from the BitStarz website and needs Android 12.0 or newer. The download page covers Android only, so iPhone users play through the mobile browser.
Is there a maximum withdrawal at BitStarz?
The FAQ says no maximum withdrawal limit is enforced, but the payments page shows a 1 BTC cap per Bitcoin transaction, and the terms let BitStarz pay substantial wins in monthly instalments. High rollers should confirm their limits with support before depositing large sums.
